Here at Energy Health we know that many of us are living and experiencing very busy lives and working in demanding and ever changing dynamic workplaces.
The events of 2020 and into 2021 clearly reflect and demonstrate this.

We work towards direct deadlines, and we frequently experience stress along the way as we go about our daily work tasks and practices.
We manage ourselves, our work colleagues and associates, and our clients, as we live and breathe ‘work’.
It all sounds anything but sedentary right?

So why is it then that many of us live sedentary lives outside of, and away from, our workplaces?

Why is it that we lose fitness, that we gain weight, that we stop doing those things that at one time meant something to us?

Is it because we are so tired, so worn out, so in need of a ‘break’ so to speak, that we think that somehow the working day is the end result, or enough to maintain a lifestyle in and of itself perhaps?

Could it be that many of us have simply lost touch with what is important to us, and what is really required to live a healthy balanced lifestyle?

How many times have we said or thought to ourselves;

“I’m too tired to go for a walk or go to the gym.”
“Work is too busy for me to step outside of the office for a break this week.”
“I need to lose some weight but I don’t have the time.”
“I need to get fit but I am too tired”
“I will get fit and lose some weight when work slows down perhaps.”

The above are simple statements many of us have used or heard others use over the years.
Some of us may see them as legitimate reasons, and others as convenient excuses perhaps, but one thing is clear here, the dangers of a sedentary lifestyle outside of work can incrementally add up to an unhealthy and unbalanced life approach that is unsustainable in all areas of our lives.

So how do we start embracing a more balanced approach to our lives and move beyond a myopic view of ourselves as work focused human doings rather than fully alive and vibrant human beings?

We need to acknowledge that balance is required and that we value and pursue those things in our lives that support that balance.
We need to find ways to step outside of ourselves and see life as more than the work we do.
By doing this, we become stronger and more able to manage and deal with stress from a position of strength and resilience.

If we are too tired or unfit or unwell to operate functionally outside of work, then we put at risk not only our own health, but the health and well being of our family, our friends and the relationships that support us living a balanced healthy life.

At Energy Health we understand the challenges and the complexities many people face in their lives.
That is why we have developed our health and well being programs to fit into and around your needs and working lifestyle, and to help you move closer towards a healthier life lived in ways that work with and for you.
